Final Performance for Parents, VIDEO PROVIDED.
Final Performance June 3rd.

Disney has been the creator of some of the most cherished characters, endearing stories, and soaring songs ever. In 1994, Disney opened their first Broadway show, Beauty and the Beast, and forever changed the way that we experienced their stories. Once on Broadway, the re-creation of Disney masterpieces brought a new sense of excitement to their characters. In 6-brief rehearsal classes, ATNY will create a show that not only demonstrates the fun and timeless nature of Disney, but also the amazing ability that a Disney song has to touch an audience and create smiles - all sung and performed through the lense of our own lives and experiences.

We invite all singing and dance levels to join us, as we all take part in this magical class and performance series.

WEEK 1: INTRODUCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION
Students will bring their “books” (any sheet music/song they have learned or regularly sing) to sing for the class. Students may be briefly coached on this material, but the real purpose is to get an idea for each students voice and capabilities so that appropriate songs for the cabaret may be assigned. Song assignments (solos and duets) will be sent out soon thereafter.

WEEK 2: BUILDING THE SHOW - THROUGHLINE & STORY.
Students should come this week with their assigned song(s) familiarized and ready to start singing it and working! Students will start by a group discussion as a cast to figure out the throughline of our cabaret - what story can we tell through all these varied songs and experiences? Students will work together to set an order for the show and relate this order to the story we’ve settled on. Next we will begin digging into the repertoire as well as continuing work on the group number(s).

WEEK 3: We'll continue to focus on the repertoire making sure that everything is nearing performance level. We'll add some light blocking/staging to the numbers as well as talk about any moments in the show that warrant “banter” or spoken introductions.

WEEK 4: SPECIAL GUEST! This week, a special guest will join the class to watch our rehearsal and give us valuable feedback on our work. Students will also have a chance at the end of the class to ask questions about the industry and being a professional broadway performing artist.

WEEK 5: Final rehearsals and tweaks of our Disney Performers. This is the day we put everything together! Block/Dress final class performance!

WEEK 6: Polish and Run the Show! It's Showtime!

WEEK 7: Final Performance for Parents, Friends! BREAK A LEG!
