It’s Winter Break and we’ve got a Broadway Camp Day that will get you in the spirit quickly. Get ready to sing, dance and act for some of the most prestigious people in musical theatre. In this 4 hour workshop, you’ll prep for Broadway Producer Jim Kierstead, who’s producing credits include Hadestown, Titanique, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, and of course, Sweeney Todd.
10am – 11:30am: Group Material w/Carl Anthony Tramon (Vocals and Choreography).
11:30 – Noon: Break. Get your audition materials ready.
Noon – 1pm: Jamibeth Margolis: Broadway Casting Director. It’s time to show off your vocal audition skills. Artists will perform as if a real audition, and JB will give you audition strengthening tips and advice.
1pm – 2pm: ATNY Welcomes Judy Abrams, Broadway Producer. Young Broadway Artists will perform in group and singularly, and garner feedback from an esteemed broadway veteran.
Esteemed Broadway Panel:
Jamibeth Margolis is a professional casting director in New York. She was with Johnson-Liff Casting, Cameron Mackintosh, and Margolis-Seay Casting and is now out on her own as a freelance casting director and owner of Jamibeth Margolis Casting And Productions. Previous credits include the Broadway and National Touring Companies of such hits as Les Miserables, The Phantom Of The Opera, Miss Saigon, Cats, and Jane Eyre as well as two dozen other shows on Broadway. She currently casts for Broadway, Off Broadway, National Touring Companies and shows for prominent regional theaters and all of the major theater festivals in NYC. She is proud to cast for National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene. Her casting office is dedicated to the development of new plays and musicals. Additional casting credits include multiple television pilots, indie films, and on-camera industrials for major US companies. Jamibeth won an Artios Award in 2020 for her casting of Fiddler On The Roof In Yiddish at Stage 42 (directed by Joel Grey). She is currently casting Harmony on Broadway (opened November 13, 2023).
Judy Abrams, Broadway Producer: Judy began her work on Broadway as an Associate Producer on the revival of Annie Get Your Gun (Tony Award) & Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life, becoming full producer on Spring Awakening (Tony, Olivier & Grammy Awards), Kinky Boots (Tony Award, Grammy Award), A Time to Kill, Rocky, the Revival of Love Letters, It Shoulda Been You & The Visit, staring Chita Rivera. She was also the Associate Producer for the National Tours of Annie Get Your Gun, South Pacific, Seussical & Wonderful Town. Judy produced the Off-Broadway productions of Spalding Grey’s Stories Left to Tell, Cy Coleman’s Exactly Like You and Bridge & Tunnel (in association with Meryl Streep). The year she is producing Anastasia, Come From Away, Groundhog Day, Indecent & The Front Page on Broadway as well as Kinky Boots.
