In this special Broadway & Film Casting Director Workshop, young actors will have the opportunity to sing 32 bars of choice and/or perform a monologue or scene. You’ll receive audition technique comments and adjustments from a top NYC Broadway & Film Casting House.
Ross Shenker is a New York based, 3-time Artios Award Nominated Casting Director. He has worked as an Associate Casting Director with Kate Geller Casting, Taylor Williams Casting, and Hopkins Ingram Casting. He is an Artios Award Nominated, NYC based Casting Director for Film, TV, and Theater. Selected film credits include: Bob Trevino Likes It (Roadside Attractions), The Front Room (A24), Omni Loop (Magnolia), Cora Bora (Brainstorm), The Good Half (Utopia), Drugstore June (Utopia), Idiotka (Utopia), Oh, Hi! (Sony), Molli & Max In The Future (Level 33), Barron’s Cove (Well Go), Cold Wallet (Well Go). TV: Too Romantic (Musical Pilot), The Artist (The Network). Theater: Prince F (Playwright’s Horizons/SoHo Rep), The Art Tour (Musical @ Theatre Row). BA in Theater/Jewish & Israel Studies from Wesleyan; MFA in Performance Studies from the University of Louisville. He has previously taught/directed at The SAG-AFTRA Foundation, UofL, UW-Madison, Actors Connection, BCTR, Kimball Studios, Stonestreet Studios, SJP Voice Studio, and Adult Film NYC. He is a Certified Teacher with the National Michael Chekhov Association.
Please bring 16 – 32 Bars, Song of Choice and a monologue or scene. Ross will critique and give you direction as he continues to improv your understanding and audition skills. You may bring track if you like. What will it take to get a callback? What do the strongest casting houses look for with auditions of new talent? Did you make the right song selection?
