TV/FILM ACT & AUDITION (5): On camera Training will focus on proper Meisner Acting Technique through monologue and script study. Actors will learn to incorporate a sense of truth and what makes a scene interesting and different. We’ll start with monologue and character work, then move to both dramatic and comedic scenes, with real TV/film scripts. Actors will enjoy playback on camera, and learn the importance of putting all focus outside of themselves. Improvisation and Meisner technique will be emphasized. Parents may sit in final class, as we invite industry to watch final filming.
About Todd Etelson: Bi-Coastal Coach: Todd Etelson is a top Bi-Coastal kids and teen acting coach, specializing in on-camera television, film, and audition technique. In 2004, he founded Actors Technique NY (ATNY), a TV and film school for serious young actors. He is responsible for helping hundreds of young talent gain representation and succeed in their budding careers. He works closely with most all of the top NYC agents, managers, and casting directors. His clients have boasted numerous major successes in network TV, film, and other commercial and stage projects. He began his career working at Dick Clark Productions in Los Angeles on such hits as The Academy of Country Music Awards, Puttin’ on the Hits, and American Bandstand. He’s performed on network television, film, and stage. He travels nationally and internationally to speak and teaches regional acting workshops. He’s taught in Canada and has been invited to China to teach on-camera acting skills and recently became a Broadway Producer of Mr. Saturday Night, with Billy Crystal. Todd has recently booked two co-stars roles himself, BULL (CBS) & BRASS TACTICS (Apple+). His passion is the talent, his respect if for the process and craft.
TV HOSTING & MEDIA (3): All actors will enjoy a customized Intensive Media Training Class presented by seasoned TV expert Donna Drake. Drake, an International Talk Show Host, United Nations Global Citizen Award Winner, 2-Time National Telly Award Winner, Former College Professor, SAG Actor, and TEDx speaker knows what it takes to have shine and thrive in front of the media. Hosting Classes will include several simulated experiences including teleprompter and reporter situations. The class will be customized to actor ages & experience. Drake’s whimsy, wit, and true knowledge will provide the ins and outs on how to not just look comfortable but actually be comfortable and relaxed anytime you are in front of the camera or a mic. She will teach how to look and sound your best, what to wear, posture, how to have a SOAR story in your pocket, and how to create a connection with the reporter and more.
