Though monologues are rarely used for audition purposes, they are a great educational instrument to learn subtextual analysis, intense focus, and living with truthful emotions. We’ll teach the teen actor that it’s not necessary to find or play for camera. The camera is there, and it’s focused on you. You don’t need to focus on it. We’ll continue to explore subtext, objective, and different ways to play copy, to become memorable to casting directors and show runners.
Are you prepping properly? Do you understand the need to understand what happened to propel you into this moment? In this class, young actors will continue to learn the foundation of all good acting. Place your focus on something external to you, and keep your focus simple. Go after your objective and continually allow your scene partner to change you.
We’ll use both comedic and dramatic material and include improvisational exercises along the way. In this class, we’ll break it down and get more specific. We strongly recommend this class, as it will help you with your scene class.
