The camera gets in the way, but is a necessary component for TV/Film. You need to learn how to exist with it. For our tweens, you don’t focus on the camera, you focus on all things outside of you. This includes your scene partner and all external stimuli. In this class, young actors will continue to learn the foundation of all good acting.
You don’t change. You allow your scene partner to make you change. With monologue, it’s about keeping concentration, and being laser focused on what you need. Go after your objective and continue to let your scene partner affect you.
We’ll use both comedic and dramatic material and include improvisational exercises along the way. We’ll explore beat changes, the power of silence, and playback so you can see the truthfulness of your moments. For audition purposes, we’ll focus on new ways to see and play copy, to make you memorable to casting directors and show runners.
