It’s what we do best. This camp offers a better insight into truth-centered expression and realism. Through improv exercises and Meisner Technique, the primary focus is on the feeling behind the words, the internalization of emotions, and the ability to take direction from a director. Our campers will explore instinctive behavior in relation to the actors’ surroundings by identifying sensory ques and grounding oneself. Stop trying to be so interesting in your acting! In this camp, you’ll learn to react instinctively, understand given circumstances, and continually hone your scene objective.
To help with those currently auditioning by tapes or in person, we’ll explore the given circumstances, play with the backstory, and ramp up necessary conflict and intensity for your character and the scene. You’ll learn how to approach the copy in a more interesting way, by understanding how to attack a script. This camp is a must for on-screen actors. The actor does not determine where the scene goes. You need to loosen your wanting to control the copy and the scene, and allow it to go where it naturally goes. You must be vulnerable and focus on all things external, especially the people you are speaking to or want something from. You must have the courage to react spontaneously to what’s coming at you.
Become a stronger auditioner and submit self-tapes that will leave a lasting impression!
